From commercial crews to one home at a time
Arthur spent his first decade in concrete on large commercial crews, where the work was structural, fast, and impersonal. He learned reinforcement, mix design, and finishing at scale. What he missed was the person the work was actually for.
In 2007 he founded Vances Concrete Craft with a clear rule: stay on the tools, and take one project at a time. Seventeen years later that rule has not changed. He walks the property, sets the layout, ties the steel, works the pour, presses the stamp, and applies the sealer himself.
The result is a business that turns down high-volume work on purpose. From custom slate-textured patios in Signal Mountain to acid-stained floors in Lookout Mountain, Arthur treats concrete as a durable canvas rather than a base to be covered up.

Arthur does not run parallel jobs. The schedule moves slower, and the finish is better for it. That is the trade this business is built on.
Prep is most of the work
Compacted subgrade, crushed stone base, thick-gauge steel reinforcement on chairs, proper joints. The part nobody sees is the part that decides whether your slab lasts.
Honest about scope
If a micro-topping will fix your patio, we will say so instead of quoting a replacement. If your base has failed, we will tell you that too.
Concrete as a canvas
Stamped patterns, integral color, antiquing releases, layered acid stains. Concrete is a structural material, but on a home it should also be worth looking at.

As a solo master craftsman, he is on-site for every pour, hand-tooling stamped, stained, and structural concrete across Hamilton County — from Signal Mountain patios to Lookout Mountain acid-stained floors.
