Soddy-Daisy Concrete Problems We Fix Every Week

Most of the concrete we replace here did not fail because of the concrete. It failed because of what happened before the truck arrived.

A driveway that has given up

Cracked, spalling, settling at the joints. Most failed driveways in this area were poured thin over bare clay with no steel in them.

What we do We dig out the failed base, compact crushed stone, and set a #4 rebar grid before a single yard goes down.

Crews that pour and disappear

High-volume outfits book three jobs a week. Prep gets rushed, the stamping window gets missed, and nobody is there when the finish matters.

What we do Arthur takes one project at a time and is on-site for the whole pour, cure, and seal.

Pavers that never stop needing work

Weeds in every joint, settling where the base washed out, and re-leveling every few seasons. The look costs you every year you own it.

What we do Stamped concrete gives you the same stone look as one reinforced slab with far less upkeep.

Not knowing what survives a Tennessee winter

Freeze-thaw cycles and de-icing salt destroy unsealed and under-reinforced concrete. Most homeowners get no real guidance on it.

What we do We spec mix, joints, and sealer for freeze-thaw durability, then keep you on a reseal cycle.

The process

How Your Soddy-Daisy Project Runs, Start to Finish

  1. 01

    Design consultation

Arthur comes out, measures, checks drainage and subgrade, and talks through patterns, colors, and what your property actually needs. Free, in person, no pressure.

  2. 02

    Firm itemized quote

You get one number covering demolition, base prep, reinforcement, the pour, the finish, and sealing. We book your date, usually four to eight weeks out.

  3. 03

    Prep and pour

Excavation to competent ground, compacted stone base, steel set on chairs, forms squared and staked. Then the pour, worked and hand-tooled by Arthur himself.

  4. 04

    Cure, seal, walk it together

The slab cures under a controlled schedule, gets its sealer at the right moment, and Arthur walks the finished work with you before he calls it done.

Not sure whether to repair or replace?

Arthur will look at your slab in person and tell you straight. No obligation, no pressure.

Scheduling Pours North of the City

Soddy-Daisy is a straight run north on Highway 27, and while it is our longest regular drive, the roads are open and the trucks arrive with the mix in good shape. We book the pour early in the day during summer so the stamping and finishing window is not cut short by heat.

Lakeshore lots need the usual waterfront care: stable footing for equipment, deliberate drainage away from the slab edge, and attention to how the ground behaves after heavy rain.

Property knowledge

New Construction and Lakeside Living

Soddy-Daisy is growing fast, and much of our work here is first-time flatwork on new construction: the driveway, the front walk, the back patio that the builder left off the contract. That is the easiest time to do it right, because we can set base depth and reinforcement before landscaping goes in.

Along the lake, patios and walkways have to handle real water. We grade for drainage, keep control joints where the slab will want to move, and seal with freeze-thaw-rated products so winter cycles do not chew at the surface.

Do you travel to Soddy-Daisy?
Yes. It is a straight run north on Highway 27 and we work here regularly, including the Sequoyah area and lakeshore neighborhoods.
Can you pour flatwork on a brand-new build?
That is the best time to do it. We can set base depth, reinforcement, and drainage before landscaping goes in, which avoids tearing anything up later.
What about patios right on the water?
We grade for drainage away from the slab edge, place control joints where the slab will want to move, and seal with freeze-thaw-rated products suited to lakeside exposure.
How far ahead do I need to book?
Four to eight weeks. Arthur runs one project at a time, so holding a date early is the way to get the season you want.
